Taking care of your body is very important. It is paramount that we look after ourselves from head to toe. Eating well and exercising helps us stay well. These are all important to strengthen our muscles and bones. As well as reducing stress levels. We must also take care of our intimate area. Taking regular baths and showers keeps us clean and fresh. It happens to be that most women do struggle with taking care of their intimate area. As a woman, your vagina requires appropriate care and taking care of your vagina is important as it is the most important part of your body.
Below I will list 4 intimate care tips
Your Nutritional Intake:
Live cultures in certain yogurts, such as Greek yogurt, fermented foods like kombucha, kefir, drinking plenty of fresh water at least 6 to 8 glasses daily, cranberry juice as well as food with garlic replenish the good bacteria in the body, especially good for vagina health. It also keeps away candida albicans: – this is the most common type of yeast infection found in the vagina, also in the mouth and intestinal tract.
It may also affect the skin and the mucous membranes. If the immune system is functioning at its optimal level, then yeast infection is rarely serious. However, if the immune system is weak the infection can migrate to other areas of the body, including the blood and membranes around the heart.
Candida can grow out of control when the body’s natural PH Balance is upset and this will then create a problem. Therefore, good healthy bacteria and a well-functioning immune system are essential in fighting these types of infections.
Diabetes, birth control pills, cancer treatments, oral corticosteroids and like mentioned weak immune system can all cause candida.
Your Cleansing routine:
The use of soap is bad for intimate care.
The fact is that traditional soap and body wash are not made for vagina care. These soaps can affect the PH balance of the vagina, having drying effect and this can do more harm than good. Using clean fresh water is the best way to care for your vagina. Your feminine intimate hygiene is important and should be taken seriously to avoid infections and to avoid having bad odour around that area.
Wearing the right type of underwear is important to feminine care. For everyday it is better to wear cotton underwear as they are breathable and absorbs moisture quick. This is paramount because the vagina area can be damp and can encourage the growth of yeast. It is also advisable not to wear underwear at night, for those who are comfortable with this.
Your Muscle strength:
Ensuring that the muscle around your vagina stays strong and healthy is important too. To get great muscle strength around the muscles of your vagina; Kegel exercise also known as Pelvic floor exercise. This helps strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor area, which supports the uterus, bladder, small intestine and rectum. The Pelvic floor muscles can become weak as one gets older, especially if you have given birth. Surgery, excessive straining from constipation, chronic cough as well as being overweight can also cause pelvic floor muscle weakness. You can do Kegel exercise just about any time. Pelvic floor exercise is beneficial if you leak urine while sneezing, laughing or coughing (stress incontinence), leak stool (faecal incontinence) have strong/ sudden urge to pass urine before losing a large amount of urine (urinary incontinence).
To identify your pelvic muscle, you need to stop urination midstream. Once you can do this you have identified the right muscles. Squeeze the muscles by pretending to stop the flow of urine midstream, holding for a few seconds and then releasing (hold the contraction for a bit and the relax, try 3-5 seconds’ intervals). For best results remain focused. It is important that you breathe freely during the Kegel exercise and you can do this exercise anywhere once you perfect your technique. Repeat this practice at least 3 times a day for effective results and at least 10 sets at every time.
It is important to take care of our intimate area it starts from simply stopping the use of soap around the vagina and looking after our overall health.
